Investment Strategy

Cryptocurrency markets are not completely connected to traditional financial markets and therefore have different financing terms. With the Jolly Ledger Digital Assets Arbitrage ETI we are bridging the gap between both markets and make use of that circumstance. Listed on a traditional and well regulated stock exchange, the ETI offers you an attractive interest yield with low volatility through two strategies:

Depending on the situation, the more attractive strategy will continuously be selected.

Stablecoin-Lending

Stablecoins are lent via a regulated counterparty. They are designed to have a stable price, by being pegged to a reserve currency like the US-Dollar or Euro. This strategy offers an attractive interest yield, which is not available on traditional financial markets at present.

Investment Process
Basis-Arbitrage

Arbitrage seeks to exploit pricing inefficiencies between two investment products with the same underlying, such as bitcoin. By entering two opposing positions simultaneously the price difference can be earned, while staying independent from market swings.

FAQs

FAQs

Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies designed to have a relatively stable price, e.g. by being pegged to a reserve currency. USDC is such a stablecoin, pegged to the US Dollar. Its goal is to make transactions faster and cheaper than traditional payments while reducing the volatility, associated with cryptocurrencies. USDC is an open-source project that operates within the framework of U.S. money transmission laws, collaborates with established banks and auditors, and operates via so-called smart contracts on the blockchain technology. Lending of USDC offers attractive interest rates, with marginal volatility. The principle is as simple as putting money into a savings account - but with way more attractive interest rates. Click here for more info about USDC.
From time to time cryptocurrency markets are in a steep contango formation. This means that the price for a cryptocurrency in the future (e.g. in 1 month) is significantly higher than the price right now. This pricing difference is called spread. Investors can make use of this circumstance: This strategy is called basis-arbitrage. How does it work? By buying an amount of a cryptocurrency now (on the spot market) and selling the same amount of the cryptocurrency via a future (on the future market). So, what is the point, you may ask? By entering the described positions you can earn the spread. And from the point of entering into these two positions, no matter in which direction the market is heading, you earn the spread! For more info about the contago formation click here.
Direct crypto investments, like buying Bitcoin, would expose investors to the changes in value of the respective coin. These can at times be massive swings. The Jolly Ledger strategy does not do this. Instead, it only invests in tokens which are 100% backed by cash and cash-equivalents (usually the US-Dollar) - therefore having an almost static value - or by entering into two opposing positions simultaneously (arbitrage), therefore creating no net exposure since the positions offset each other.
If no units of the ETI have been traded during the auction window, Börse Stuttgart uses the bid price (the price for which you could have sold) as the official price fixing of that day. If units of the ETI are bought, then the official fixing is the ask price (the price for which you can buy). Even if there was no change in value, you will see different prices on days with trades and without trades: this is simply due to the difference of bid and ask prices. If these days alternate, the chart looks like a zigzag pattern.
An Exchange Traded Instrument (ETI) is, as the name suggests, tradable at a regulated exchange. The regulated setting ensures transparency, tradability and safety for market participants. ETI's are often also called Actively Managed Certificates (AMC). The issuer's credit risk is thereby hedged by pledging the collateral assets in favor of the ETI holders.
You can buy the ETI at any broker that has access to Börse Stuttgart. Here you can find a selection of brokers, offering the ETI. Just insert the ISIN: DE000A3GV3E5 in the security search tab at your broker and it will guide you to the ETI.
The ETI is tradable every exchange day in an ongoing auction between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. CET.
You have to pay a spread of 0.5% for every order at Börse Stuttgart. This arises for the service of the market maker, who enables tradability within the auction period. In addition, you have to pay transaction costs, which depend on your broker. These are not included in the expected returns of the underlying strategies.
Yes. You can set up a savings plan at comdirect starting at 25 Euro per month.
No. During the daily auction window, you trade with a so-called market maker. The market maker's task is to provide sufficient liquidity so that all traded units can be bought and sold at exactly the same price. If you want to trade more than the units quoted by the market maker, please contact us upfront. In most cases, even for very large orders, we can still provide the same pricing as for the default quoted units.
Börse Stuttgart does not display any bid or ask prices before 9:30 CET and after the auction has closed. However, you can still look up historical prices and quotes and place orders for execution during the next auction window.
Risk classes are defined by EU Regulation 2017/653. The risk classes from 1 to 7 are based on the historical volatility of the product of the last years. If the product does not have at least two years of history and no suitable benchmark or proxy, risk class 6 - i.e. the second highest - is always used as a blanket rule. This is done regardless of the actual volatility that the product has in the first two years. Only after this two year period another risk class can potentially be used.
To reduce the issuer risk to almost zero, iMaps pledges the underlying assets to Intertrust Group BV. Intertrust is an independent trustee that holds the underlying assets for the benefit of the ETI holders.
